Q: I want to go to the Bahamas but not sure where to go. Freeport or Nassau. I'm looking to just relax and maybe some watersports. Larry
Jack's Answer:
Definitely go to Paradise Island where the Atlantis Resort is. This will satisfy all of your requests. From beautiful beaches to a Vegas style casino. You are also just minutes away from Nassau. Trust me, you will never want to leave.
Jill's Answer:
In my opinion, Freeport is equivalent to the Mexico of the Bahamas, Nassau, or more specifically Paradise Island, the Las Vegas of Bahamas. Freeport is more budget friendly, and younger. Nassau offers many more activities as well as relaxing beaches and areas also. Watersports are ample in Nassau, and I definitely prefer it over Freeport

Q: I am from Boston and I love to ski. I keep hearing about how wonderful the skiing is out west. Do you have a preference of where the best ski resorts out West are?
Jack's Answer:
I love skiing out west. There are so many different ski resorts it is tough to choose the best. If you go with the family I would go to Breckenridge, Colorado. There are 4 mountains to choose from with a large variety of different difficulty of runs. For an avid skier who likes a challenge I would choose Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The terrain there is difficult and fun. If you want somewhere close to an urban environment I would choose Park City, Utah. The slopes are only a 40 minute drive from Salt Lake City. If you like gambling and a view I would go to Heavenly, South Lake Tahoe. You can gamble at night and ski during the day with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. If you want to helicopter skiing I would go to Whistler, British Colombia, Canada. I think the best all around ski mountain is Telluride, Colorado. It's got a great town, great mountain and great snow. Hope this was helpful.
Jill's Answer:
Well, I personally don't have a preference because I've never been. However my friend Michelle lives out there and has plenty of insight. Here's her advice: There are over 20 amazing ski resorts in Colorado. The most well known are Aspen and Vail. These resorts cater a bit more to a higher end type of crowd, but they both have great skiing and celebrity watching. There are a few lesser know resorts like Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, and Winter Park. These mountains also have some great skiing and other activities such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and shopping. The best part of the ski day is après ski – where everyone heads to the restaurants and bars for some drinks and food and talks about the great snow that day.
The resorts are usually open from mid November to mid April, depending on snow conditions. I'll include a website that has some great information on booking a vacation. You can find deals on hotels/condos, passes for the mountain and local events.

Q: My boyfriend recently proposed and we are looking into our honeymoon options. Are there any must see/must do areas that you recommend? We are very adventurous and open to just about anything.... By Sara
Jack's Answer:
I think Caneel Bay resort on the island of St. John is the best place for a honeymoon. It is in the United States Virgin Islands and has one of the most romantic settings in the world. The beaches are always being rated as some of the best in the world alongside with some of the most crystal clear blue water you will ever see. The resort is amazing, and you will feel like it is all to yourselves. If you are looking to have a romantic honeymoon definitely check this place out
Jill's Answer:
I think my answer depends on how much time you have to spend traveling. If you are only taking a week long vacation, several days of it get eaten up with travel, so it's better to maximize the vacation with the least amount of travel time. Cruises are always fun, especially because you get to pack in several destinations without the stress of various flights and travel worries. Also there are lots of activities on board and at the popular destinations. Now if you have a longer honeymoon planned, I would definitely recommend Europe. Once again, you can cruise once your there and hit many European hot spots, or take your leisurely time exploring on your own. Check out Costa cruise lines, they offer several longer cruises with destinations arriving in Italy, France, Spain, and even the northern African Coast. If cruising is not your thing, Europe has high speed rails to shuttle you from country to country, and if you prefer to drive there are plentiful quaint hotels in popular vacation spots. Be sure to check the forecast for the time of year you are planning to make sure the activities you enjoy are available for the time of year. Finally, if you are planning a longer honeymoon away, I highly recommend checking into South Africa. The exchange rate is still very favorable which allows you to maximize your dollar and spare no expense in the good life. It is a vacation fit for a king and an experience like no other. Some recommended places are Capetown, Umhlanga Rocks near Durban, or various Safari tours.

Ask Jack and Jill.com question on Travel:
What places would you recommend for my first trip to Europe?
Jack's Answer:
There are so many great places. It is tough to decide. I could really go on and on about where to go in Europe but that could take forever to write. One thing you might want to look into is getting a Euro Rail pass so you can travel all over Europe and see everything for cheap. A reminder though, that usually would require you to stay for a longer period of time. It really depends on what you are interested in. If you want museums and fashion I would go to Paris. If you want music and food I would go to Seville. If you want theatre, go to London. If you want a party and beautiful scenery go to Bavaria. If you want to relax on the beach, I would go to the islands of Greece. For skiing go to Kitzbühel, Austria. For hiking and chocolate go to Switzerland. For gambling, Monte Carlo. For fishing, northern Scotland. For walks and lush greenery, Ireland. And if you want romantic, then I would go to Prague. Word of advice. Woman think Paris is romantic but for guys not so much. I guarantee both of you will think Prague is more romantic than Paris, and the people are nicer. Have fun.
Jill's Answer:
I'm a big fan of Barcelona. There is so much culture, plus the beach and nightlife, you can't go wrong. Paris also has culture, but I'm not a fan of the city, or country for that matter. I find the people extremely rude, and find there's such a great energy in Barcelona. Monaco is amazing, but very pricey.
